Out of Penang

Last weekend, we crossed the Penang bridge and was out of Penang for the the first time since Chinese New Year (not counting the time I went to Kulim for a meeting). It was also Shanna's first road trip.

We started packing 1 week prior traveling.

Yes, that was how excited and nervous we were, as Shanna had never been confined in the car for more than 40 minutes, the furthest she had been was to Georgetown! Also, we did not know how she would react to staying in houses other than ours and the babysitter's.

Our 5 days travel itinerary:
Friday morning -leave Penang
Friday 1pm - arrive in KL for pit stop
Friday 3pm - continue to Melaka
Saturday - in Melaka
Sunday 11am - leave Melaka
Sunday 1pm - arrive in KL
Monday - in KL
Tuesday 9.30am - leave KL
Tuesday 2.pm - arrive in Penang

We had a great time with family, many relatives came to see Shanna. We are very proud of our little girl as she was very well behaved the whole trip. Even though she did not sleep much in the car (~1.5 hours our of 4hours), she was contented to play on her own most of the time. No fussing at all. She also ate well. Though she was tired with all the traveling and compensated by taking many naps through the day. Shanna has also developed people recognition skills, but she was happy to play and be carried by anyone most of the time, except when she was cranky and tired.

I must mention that Tim and I felt like we were moving house :) We brought Shanna's bedspread, night light, stearilizer pot/tongs, toys, portable cot, mattress, etc etc. It was totally worth it to lug all this stuff as it was not only necessary, but it helped make Shanna feel more at home.

When we got back to Penang on Tuesday afternoon, Shanna was sent to the babysitter's so Tim and I could unload and clean up. She was so excited to be back to her familiar surroundings that she didn't nap much. But she compensated for that on Wednesday :)

More pictures posting later.
