Can we travel now?

I mean overseas travel.

Yes, now Shanna has her passport! ... Not that we have any plans to go anywhere, Shanna is still small, but it has been our practice to have a passport for emergencies (I'm not expecting Darurat/Emergency or whatever, but you never know).

We (Tim and I) woke up extra early (Shanna still fast asleep) and arrived at Immigration at around 8am. Due to previous experience of passport photos taken at photo processing shops outside not being accepted, we had decided earlier to have Shanna's picture taken at the Immigration photo booth.

However, upon arrival, to my consternation, I was told that they don't service photo-taking for children and babies :(

We were about to head home when an uncle (one of those people who help passport applicants fill up their forms, photostat IC's) outside the immigration told us the Kodak Express shop down the road will open at 9am and we can have Shanna's picture taken there.

Finally at 9.15am, the shop opened. I had to wake Shanna up to have her picture taken. Her being so small, I had to balance her on my leg and try to make her body straight and facing the camera. Well, Shanna wasn't very happy to be woken up and then being held so uncomfortably, as a result, she looked very grumpy in her picture hehe...

For her height information in the passport, Shanna had to be measured with a ruler and she cried as she did not like being placed on the counter. Her height in the passport is 60cm :) After that, she was a happy girl when she realized we were out 'gai-gai' :)

Shanna's passport cost us RM150 instead of the usual RM300 for adults.

Baby Dedication on May 17 2009

On May 17 2009, Tim and Audrey dedicated Shanna to God. We believe God created Shanna for a purpose and as her parents, we want this purpose to be fulfilled in her life. So, we and other like-minded parents of Jayden, Grace and Caris, made this declaration and prayer in the church service:
"Lord, we Timothy and Audrey Lee bring our child Shanna Lee before you. We sincerely dedicate this precious child to you. You have given this child to us. Now we give this child back to you. Lord, write such assignments on your scroll for our child so that our child may grow to know you and to love you. Give us your wisdom to guide our child in all your ways. May our child glorify your name in all the days of her life. In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Amen."

Dear Shanna, know that God made you special and He loves you and has a good plan for you :) Daddy and Mummy wants God's best for you too. Just for your information (since you will not remember this event, being so small), you were hungry when service started, so Mummy fed you, then you poo'ed and Daddy Mummy rushed to change your diaper, and just in time we were back in the hall for your dedication. During the dedication, you were about to cry because you were sleepy. But you must have known that there were lots of eyes on you so you kept quiet until we got back to our seat :)
P/S Thanks to Uncle CK for taking photos of this event for us :)

Just blogging...

Mother's Day cum birthday treat from hubby at Chilli's... yummy...

Shanna at week10

Shanna wets 2 hankies every evening with her drool :) She will lick/suck on her hanky or anything that comes into contact with her mouth :)

Shanna: "Guess who I look like when I 'blek'? "

When Shanna gives us this look, we say hey there, guli-eyes :)... in translation 'eyes like marbles'

Shanna: " I'm trying to pose like the baby in the picture below...Do we look alike??"

This is a picture in the Mother's Room at Intel where I go everyday to express milk for baby.

The Mother's Room has a fridge, sink, soap and paper towels. I have to bring my own hot water to sterealize the pump. It's also freezing cold :(

Still, thank God for such facilities at my workplace. My colleague told me that years back when they did not have the Mother's Room, she would go to the toilet and express out some milk to avoid engorgement and then throw away (not sanitary)... so wasted.

Officially a breastfeeding working mother for 1 week now. How long can I last, I wonder? I dare not set any timelines, I can only say- for as long as I possibly can.

Shanna: I'm 10 weeks now!

I like to suck my mittens since I can't reach my thumb.

Me listening to the Sunday sermon :)

Daddy listening intently to the sermon while I'm sucking intently on my mittens

I go to church on Sunday with Daddy and Mummy. Last Sunday was Mother's day and Mummy got a gift because of me! :)

I'm growing to be a big girl now.

Yesterday I got bored when Mummy talked on the phone with Grandma, so I started to complain.
Then Mummy put the phone to my ear, and I stopped complaining when I heard Grandma's voice. I even talked with Grandma on the phone.

Grandma: " Shanna, be a good girl. Go to sleep after this ok?"
Shanna: " Ai... uu... hmm.... ei...."
Grandma: " Shanna, don't cry so much ok?"
Shanna: " aeiii... ai..... a..."

Later in the evening, Mummy put my on the potty and started whistling "sh, sh..." and I remember what Aunty Por Por my babysitter taught me, so I wee wee into the potty. Mummy was so proud of me, she gave me 3 kisses and said I was a good girl :)

This morning, Daddy woke me up for my milk at 7.30am... I have been enjoying my sleep for the past few days, waking up later and later, at 6.30am, then 6.45am, then 7.15am....

I like going to Aunty Por Por's house because they sayang me so much. Every morning , Aunty Por Por is so happy to see me... she will kiss kiss me and I will smile at her and chat with Uncle Gong Gong... Aunty Por Por says I'm everyone's 'bao bei' (precious girl).

Shanna's Toys

Cloth books by Lamaze and Priddy Books. The "Fuzzy Bee and Friends" is the best one. Top rated in Amazon.com

Tiny Love Melody Maker play gym which I got from US for RM80+ (costs over RM200 here in mothercare). Shanna gets very excited everytime she is put on it.

Fisher Price toy. Shanna likes looking at this and catching it with her hands.

Red MP3 speaker attached with player. Shanna was entertained by the music and looking at this since she was new born.

Lamaze Tina the Tiger. Shanna likes to look into Tina's eyes.

Musical ducky. Shanna smiles a lot at this ducky :)

Her favorite toy has to be Lamaze's Jacques the Peacock which she enjoyed since new born. The peacock has many black and white and red patterns which captivates Shanna. No picture of the peacock here as it is currently at the babysitter's. I bought the peacock after researching and finding it to be top rated in Amazon.com.
So daddies & mummies to be... hope this helps you! ;)
