Random Pics & Important Notice

Let's start with the important notice. Due to a recent personal experience with identity theft, we have decided to restrict this blog's access to our family & friends only. We will send invitations to those already following this blog. All others who would like to continue to stay in touch with us through this blog, please drop an email to us at timli1022@yahoo.com or auyshan@yahoo.com.

What ID theft? To make a long story short - Tim was charged with a phone bill (RM1.5k+) for a number he never owned, police report made, hopefully case closed.

Back to our little girl. Some random pictures taken over last month, featuring Shanna on various modes of transport, and wearing some clothes given by Grandma (before she outgrows them).

Out gai-gai during the weekend. Shanna loves going out, which little kid doesn't?

All excited to be going to church

First Word!

Recently Shanna has been imitating sounds we make, such as when we say 'choo choo choo' (train), she goes 'tu tu tu tu'...

Today, she said 'keeerr' when shown a picture of a bear (I had been telling her that bears go Grrr).

Last Sunday, I fed Shanna papaya. As usual, I told her she was eating 'Papaya' clearly and slowly. She looked at me, and then said 'tataya'. She then smiled delighted at her new skill :) She said it a few times, each time she grinned happily after saying her 'tataya'. Her first real word. I was so proud of her! No video though, coz by the time we got the camera ready to film, the papaya was finished...

Here is a video of us playing ball though :)

My skills at 10 Months

1. I know where my tummy, toes, nose, mouth are.

2. I can self feed rusk, cracker, banana, and other fruits that Mummy allows.

3. I can crawl fast on my belly (Shanna style) and scuttle around on my behind :)

4. I rock my body anytime I like, whether there is music or not...

5. When Daddy Mummy says 'choo choo choo', I imitate the sound with 'tut tu tut tu'...

6. After I think I did something great, I will clap my hands... yay!!

7. I look at Mummy when I am not sure whether I can touch something. If Mummy gives me a look and says no, most of the time I will obey. If I persist, Mummy will clap her hands once and say 'no' firmly. Then I will crawl to Mummy and sayang her.... manja hor.

8. I love to kiss/sayang all my soft toys, my fav pictures, and also Mummy and Daddy when I'm in the mood..

9. I can play ball with Mummy/Daddy, rolling/throwing it back to them. Fun!

10. I play peekaboo with Mummy/Daddy using the curtain.

11. I said my first word yesterday :)

12. I sometimes manage to fit the shapes into the shape sorter.

13. I'm really interested in animals like cats, birds, rabbits...

14. I point/gesture to things I want or things I'm interested in.

15. When I want to go out, I start waving bye-bye.

Here's a video of my latest antics. Enjoy :)

December 2009: Time With Family & Friends

Every December is a happening month with family and friends' visits.

1st week of this December, our uni mate Daniel visited us and stay a couple of nights. It was nice to meet him after so long (few years since we last saw him). Shanna took an immediate liking to Uncle Daniel. She would laugh and play peekaboo with him on her own initiative. She also loved the Christmas gift Uncle Daniel got her. See her first reaction when we showed her the Piglet.

Crawling fast, fast to Piggy before it runs away!

Loving her new toy
The weekend after, Por Por, Dominic & Audrey came to visit. Por Por came with lots of Kampung chicken, and went back with 3 roast ducks! That was after waiting in the airport gate for 6 hours for the Air Asia delayed flight :(
We visited Siew's at Minden during one of the board game sessions. The guys played Risk, the girls played Shanna :)

With Joni & Beverly (upgraded to Aunties)

Shanna: Why is Mickey staring at me?

The other Siu family (Sel, Ida & Esrene) came back to Penang after 3 years away, Shanna and Esrene were supposed to meet up and play. The plan didn't work out with poor Esrene getting HFMD a couple of days before Christmas. On Christmas day after church, we paid the family a quick visit, chatting from a distance while Shanna and Esrene eyed each other.

From a distance... play together next time, ok?

Then last weekend after Christmas, Grandpa, Grandma & Ah Yi came to stay for a few days while Kau Fu went back to USM. Shanna got to stay home a couple of days with me taking care of her instead of going to babysitter's. She was good, going down for all her naps peacefully, on schedule and eating well. Grandma cooked us all a delicious meal. On one of our dinners out, Shanna encountered some cats close-up and since then she is very interested in all the cat pictures in her books. Daddy Tim will be posting the pictures soon!
As I had to settle some things in KL, I went back to KL with my family just for a day on New Year's Eve's eve :) We put the GPS I bought from US to good use in Ipoh, navigating our way to buy Kaya Kok and salt-baked chicken... yum yum.
Since Tim and Shanna did not come along this trip, I took the opportunity to meet up with my old school friend (my very very good friend) Sheau Yiing and her hubby Kelvin for a yummy dinner at Alexis, Gardens Midvalley (my first time to Gardens too!). Wish for more meet ups but what to do, Penang and KL are not that near. I spent 1 night in KL (hubby again took care of Shanna in Penang), and flew back to Penang on Firefly the next morning in time to go to work. Shanna greeted me with a big smile at the airport :D

Forgot to take a picture, so here is their wedding picture taken a year ago when Shanna was 4 months in my belly.

All in all, another wonderful December...
