When...? It's Week 39.

Baby must be very comfy inside.

Check up yesterday showed baby is still growing and healthy. She is ~3.1kg now. But my weight has not increased for the past 3 weeks - 57.4, 57.6 and latest is 57.5kg. Doctor said it's alright since I do not have water retention, and baby is absorbing nutrients from me (if I put it another way, I'm losing weight and baby's gaining?).

If baby is still not here in another week, we pay another visit to doctor. If she is still healthy and well, doc said wait another 1 more week before inducing labor at week 41....

Well, I guess she will come out when she is ready, who knows, it may be today... or anytime?? Hehe...
I'm thankful that she is at full term :)

Stuff sale

One of our neighbours just returned from a long stay overseas. So they held a 'garage' sale yesterday (since we don't have garages here, so it was called a 'stuff sale').

Since it was only 2 units away, Tim and I walked over, got acquainted with our neighbour and the sale :) They really had a LOT of stuff, can't imagine how it fits into their apartment!

We got a big pot for RM3, baby alphabet jigsaw playmat for RM2 and a bunch of children's books with magnets, pop ups for RM14 :D

Week 38...!!

Starting week 38 now. Time flies, another week has past and it's time for doctor's check up again. No indication that baby is coming out soon except suspected that there was a 'show' a few days ago. Cervix is slightly soften but undilated, so doctor says labor won't likely happen in 'next few days' (his words). So Tim and I are planning our weekend activities hehe...

Many people have asked if I have any symptoms of water retention at my feet, and subsequent reduction of swelling - supposed to be indication that baby is coming soon. So far no water retention wor... what does that mean...

Both baby and myself are doing well :) I'm trying to get lots of sleep now :D

How we caused traffic jam in QB

We went to QB last weekend during V-Day (Valkryie and Valentine) and after the movie and some freebies from QB, we went out for some photos shoting at the seaside outside QB. That was during the peak hour when all the lover couples driving towards car park. I guess those drivers were wondering who's the pretty model there on the other side of the road, thus the traffic was stalled for a moment... :D

Here are some of the photos taken from PG studio house. Come to think of it, we dont have many chance to take pregnant mom's photo. So these are some of the few precious moment that we want to share with the reader :D

Week 37!

Wow, getting closer...!

Yes, we are Nervous, and Excited :) The hospital bag is more or less packed. Some last minute shopping for confinement and baby stuff, but mostly our thoughts are focused on the arrival of baby Shanna Lee Yan Yi... when?? - is the main question; how will it be like?? A lot of questions. We commit it to God and stand on His word. :)

In yesterday's checkup, Dr Low says bb is growing well, head is 3/5 engaged in pelvis. I have a small scattering of Group B strep bacteria and need to be on IV/antibiotics during delivery (God please help me as I don't like needles).

During the scan, bb opened and closed her mouth a few times, hungry? Or maybe she is bored and yawning hehe. We could see her hairline at the back, reaching her neck. She also has the cord on the front of her neck, near her mouth, it can't be seen if it goes all the way around or just in the front. Daddy Tim is always telling Bb Shanna, 'Don't play with the cord ok?' Doc says not to worry about it, it may or may not be an issue during delivery.

Mummy:
Weight: 57.4kg
BP: 107 64
Fundal Height: 36cm

Baby:
Weight: ~2.9kg

Yes, baby is getting bigger, we can see and feel her fists and feet on my belly when she does her exercises :)

House Cleaning

Most people house clean before Chinese New Year. For us, we never really practiced this tradition, actually we never really had a very thorough house cleaning effort since we moved into our apartment 3 years ago :P

This year, with baby on the way, my nesting instinct kicked in and I wanted to get the house spick and span and in order ASAP. So since December last year, we have been gradually cleaning out cupboards, shelves and fixing things that needed fixing (thank God for a husband that is very good at this!).

We decided to get hired help for some of the 'major' cleaning needed. A friend recommended her maid agency which provides maids for cleaning at hourly basis. So we got a maid to come for 7 hours for RM55.

She arrived before 8am looking very tidy and clean. During the 7 hours, she cleaned all the grills and windows in our apartment thoroughly; she also cleaned all the kitchen cabinets, all the cupboard tops in the house and a fan. Tim and I were very worried about her safety when she cleaned the windows, as she liked to climb outside. A slight mis-step and she would be going 9 floors down, the express way... :

We were quite satisfied with her help. By the time she left our house, all her clothes were dirty. Our house really needed this cleaning :P

Frankly, we felt a little sorry for the tough life these maids live. After our house, she was supposed to go to another cleaning assignment. For lunch, she only took a 10 minute break and ate on the floor though I asked her to use the table. The 100 Plus I gave her she did not drink at all but brought it back. And she declined all my offers of water... she didn't drink anything for 7 hours! :(

Tim and I worked along with the maid and after a tiring day, the house is now more or less in order :)

Counting down

After 2 weeks, it was time again for doctor's checkup at week36.0. As usual, I'm blogging about it so that I will have a record of the progress later :)

Mummy:
Blood pressure: 98 64 (higher)
Weight: 56.6kg
Fundal height: 35cm

Baby:
Weight: ~2.5kg
Head down, facing sideways - baby needs to facedown for delivery. Doc said that that baby can turn anytime, even during delivery.

We decided that I should be tested for Group B strep bacteria which can cause effects to baby. The total bill came up to ~RM140 with the test included.

After this, doctor asked to come in for weekly checkups until delivery.

Unexpected

Well, this is the last month of my 9 month journey. Thought I would summarize a little on the unexpected experiences in this journey so far.

I did not expect:
1. I would be able to withstand from eating spicy foods and seafood, both of which I love (and still do). But avoiding due to heartburn and skin allergies.

2. To be able to take advantage of 'special treatments' like counter at bank for expecting mothers. But it really does work.

3. Big belly will prevent me from being able to sit in a 'ladylike' manner with legs crossed. Now I understand why pregnant ladies seem more 'chor-lo' :P

4. A stethoscope can be used to listen to baby's hiccups :)

5. That a baby can have hiccup spells so often! Can be said everyday, and even more than once a day.

6. That I will need help to get my toe nails trimmed; not being able to reach and trim my toe nails :S

7. There are clothes that I had pre-pregnancy that I can still wear until now!

Well, that's all for now. Got to go.

CITY.... AmaziNg ;)

Thank God for a safe round trip back to hometown and back to Penang. We went back with full load of stuff for our family and we thought that the trip back to Penang will be a lighter one, but how wrong were we... the photos below is the stuff that we put in our car.

one 9 litter coller box, 2 dozen 100Plus, ceilling fan, 2 lugguages, one laptop bag, 10bottles of rice wine, several tins of CNY biscuits, i box of plant, one steamer and one trolly (i think that's all)

we packed all the stuff to the max in the car. :D

Then, when we arrived Penang, we turned in to Juru for dinner and it was the first time we been there (tough it opened for few years now) as many of our friend claims that the place is for yuppies. :)

We went to Chicago Ribs house and ordered a pork ribs to be shared by both of us. Too much of CNY food previous days and tried to cut down on the intake.. :) THe ribs were good but there still have rooms for improvement. :)

 Audrey deciding what to order

 the RIBS!!! yummy...

This is not part of the Ribs house, this is taken from PG's pool side. Just thought that the colour is nice and was wanting to take it for a long time, then after moving all the stuff from the car to the apartment, i have the chance to capture this photo. Btw, it took us 3 rounds just to clear the stuff in the car. :)
