Long story - our story

On the eve of 20th Feb 2013 we boarded our plane from KLIA in the afternoon after having a super expensive Mc-D at the airport and headed off to Singapore to catch the overnight flight to Melbourne.

The kids were having fun running about the airport with many things to see and explore. Shanna went to the butterflies park at T3 and Ian was having his beauty sleep. Both of us were a bit sad knowing that it might be another long while before we can go back to Malaysia and it'll be another long while before we transit in Changi airport.
We boarded the A380 Airbus and it was a surprise to us. After the whole long 8 hours flight with the sleepy kids and adult, we arrived Melbourne in the morning.

Melbourne - part 01
We arrived the airport and our good friend fetched us back to our rented place at Ringwood East. We were paying around Aud 370 per week for the unit with 3 bedrooms + 1 studies + 2 bathrooms and 1 single toilet. Double storey unit with reasonable sized backyard, living room and dinning area; 3 nicely carpeted rooms (not sure about the cleanliness or it though).
Brought the whole family around the area after settling down for a day, started buying groceries from Woolies and Coles from the near by supermarket. Nearest shopping mall was Eastland, with plenty of parking and easy to drive road. First week was just exploring the surrounding area, unpacking and meeting up with local friends.

Part 02 - The great fall ....
I was offered a job in one of the local company, Sensorplex, run by ex Malaysian who stayed in Melbourne > 30years. I reported to work a week after touching down in Melbourne and worked as application engineer to do software and hardware setup in automation field. Basically this company deliver safety system in a fully automated environment such as food packaging floor. Started working after a week in Melbourne. First day wasn't too bad, had lunch provided by the employer for three days a week, meat pies (4-20 they call it here), roast chicken, self made sandwich, bacon...etc not everything in a day.
Started to study about the system, ABB safety, ASi standard and software on VB. Net. Pressure started to be piling up on my shoulder to perform as soon as i can without telling me what were the expectations. One particular incident was that I need to know what ASi (Asynchronous Switch Interface) stand for instead of what it does, which apparently it's more important to know the word than what it does technically to the director of the company.
Things went on from there and started to help my mentor to create some sub program to help him in his job. I was being asked to do some hands-on to assemble a safety system from scratch, which was part of my job spec. So when I went to the production floor, I was shown the way to drill holes through a stainless steel box with a hand-drill and without any safety gear such as goggle, gloves or ear plug. After 3 weeks of surviving mode in Sensorplex, the director drop a bombshell asking me to leave the company with 2 weeks of compensation with this reason "Don't think you are fit for this job".
I didn't question him back much about what did he mean by i'm not fit without telling me upfront what were his expectations were. In some way i was glad, but in some way i was disappointed as I had not been made redundant in the whole of my career life. At that time, I remember what Job said in the Bible (Job 1:21) "The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised" God gave me that job and In His will, it's taken away and I'm glad that it happened when i look back now
