Shanna @ 3 Years Old
- A very cheerful, sometimes timid, chatty, good little girl.
- Finally, starting to use 'I', 'me', 'you' in the right context
- "I want to go to school to study, Daddy Mummy go to work"
- Loves using big words: "automatically", "evaporated", "floppity-flip". Her English vocabulary is quite extensive as she likes to read.
- Able to memorize stories that she loves, word for word, just by listening to us read it to her.
- She can read more than 10 words, but not much progress due to lack of regular teaching.
- Very interested in learning about things around her "Water goes into the kidneys, then the bladder then comes out as wee wee", "Food goes into tummy, big intestine, small intestine, and comes out as mm mmm". She knows what are 'solids' 'liquid' 'gas'; 'incisors' 'canines' 'molars'; 'skeleton' 'skull' 'brain', etc.
- Wears dresses/pants in 4T size (due to the longer length), but for tops, can still fit into 2T. Shoe size is already at 9.
- Best recent comment, said when having a little motion sickness "Mummy, I am not well, I am pregnant."
Ian @ 3 Months Old
- Compared with Shanna, Ian is a baby that easily gains weight. He likes attention from people, and is a contented baby. However, when he wants something but doesn't get it, he cries very loudly and angrily, and arches his back while kicking hard. However, after a while, if he doesn't get a response, he will self-soothe and stop crying.
- 6.2kg (another 1kg increase since month 2), 61cm in length
- Wears M size diapers and size 3-6 months old clothes since he was 2months+.
- Cries a lot less
- Goes to sleep with some patting and a lot less crying
- Still drinking mummy's milk
- Baby-talking
- Loves to smile
- Bedtime 9.30-10.30pm; Wake time 8.30-9.30am. We still get him up for feed in between at 12midnight and 7.30am.
Me @ 3 weeks after starting work:
1 week after I started work, Tim went on biz trip (he is still not back yet). Fortunately my mother was available to come up to Penang to help me out.
Work has been very hectic, with early morning and late night meetings, and many other meetings in between. Between working hard in the office, working as Ian's milk supplier, and taking care of the kids, I have been on a fast track weight loss program. Has anyone lost their handphone TWICE in a day before? I did, and I learnt that there are still honest people around in Intel :) Once, I struggled and failed to lock up the mail box, only to realize (as I had random thoughts in the night), that I had been fiddling with some one else's mail box.
My colleagues have remarked that I look well and have 'good face color', I attribute this to getting uninterrupted 6 hours rest at night (thanks to my boy sleeping through), and consuming Benedictine DOM every night. Despite the physical tiredness, compared with the 9 months pregnancy when I was mostly sick with nausea, indigestion and heartburn, I feel really good now :)
