Leave Over

Today is when I was supposed to start work, but I decided to extend my maternity leave until next week, after celebrating Shanna's birthday. My boss was very supportive, to the extend of letting me know that that was expected :)

I had a very busy, but great 2 months. The 1st month passed in a blur, with all of us in a sleep-deprived state, and lots of breastfeeding, nice meals (thanks to my mummy's & mum in law's cooking), and typical confinement woes (constant perspiration, aches, controlled bath time, etc).

During the 2nd month, after Ian started going to the babysitter's, I had some time to run errands, do house cleaning, shopping, hair treatment, lounging at Borders, etc. Also managed to spend some 1 on 1 time with my little girl, and go on a date with hubby. It has been a good time to catch up on some rest before work starts.

Most frequently used appliances/device during these 2 months:

1. Washing machine :: not surprising

2. Gas stove :: cooking/boiling

3. Bottle warmer (self explanatory) - Thank you for this gift, Uncle KC! :)

4. Freezer :: filled with confinement food stock earlier on, now filled with Ian's milk!

5. Medela Pump In Style :: I only use it like, erm, 5 times a day!

6. Kindle Touch :: One thing I managed to do a lot (!) during these 2 months is reading. I must have read more than 15 books! I read when breastfeeding or expressing milk, which really consumes a lot of time (around the clock). Thanks to hubby who got me the Kindle Touch with a standing cover, I could read hands free, can you tell I really like this device? ;)

Being parents of 2 kids, Tim and I are definitely very busy. Apart from that, we find ourselves constantly in awe of how awesome our kids are :) Everyday we are telling each other how blessed we are to have our sweet, adorable & smart little girl, and our chubby, cute, good little boy. We are indeed thankful both our children are blessed with good health.

How can I end this post without posting more pictures of my little ones... especially for the grandparents to admire :)

Shanna: 2 weeks from 3 years old; Ian: 2 months old (see how he's grown!)

Nowadays, this is the face the little girl makes when asked to smile.

My little boy adores me, can you tell? :P

Wearing jie jie's hand me downs. Shanna was never able to fill out this onesie.
