CNY 2011... Best Time With Family & Friends

Happy Chinese New Year everybody! Gong Xi, Gong Xi!!

My Daddy & Mummy took a long break from work (1.5 weeks) and we had a wonderful time with family and friends back in KL & Melaka.

My new year was fun! I went out 'gai-gai' a lot, ate a lot of cookies, prawn crackers, cashew nuts, and played with cousins and aunties and uncles. It was relaxing for D&M too, eating, sleeping, going out.

As it has been the tradition for years, we were in Melaka early for Daddy to help Por por with the CNY preparations. My Daddy helps with the cooking for reunion dinner, frying the prawn crackers, and scrubbing the porch and kitchen floors. I 'helped' Daddy wash the porch floor while playing with tadpoles Por Por caught for me from the drain outside.

This year, the weather was very different. It was raining up to the day before CNY. It was very cold and windy. Many places in Melaka almost got flooded. Thank God the floods stopped right before CNY.

Home made 'Yee Sang' for reunion dinner. No raw fish as that's not popular around here.

All ready to eat! (Actually Gu Gu asked me to pose like that)

I decided to start eating right away.

So happy to receive Ang Pow from D&M. I was even happier when Mummy opened it and showed me the money inside.

Playing with cousin Joseph di di.. He's only 8 months old but weighs 10kg... a big boy!

Isn't he cute? I was distracted from looking at the camera by another ang pow.

When I saw jie jie's on the swing, I ran towards them shouting 'jie jie!! come! swing!'

With my Daddy this time.

Saying 'Hi' to Mummy and smiling for the camera :)

Whenever I can, I like to run around in Por Por's big garden. That's how I got mosquito bites on my face.

Me and Por Por. Harvesting the vegetables from the garden for our dinner.

On the 4th day of Chinese New Year, we went to KL.
By the way, I can read all the letters A-Z now! So I can read & say K-L too! My D&M are super proud! :D

Here I am with Gu Por's who all adore me ;-) I win their hearts by sharing my raisins and feeding them with it!

My dear Grandma saved a turkey from Christmas and roasted it for Chinese New Year, yum yum!

Grandpa has lots of practise carving turkeys, he does it every year.

My Mummy's best friend Aunty Sheau Yiing's baby is already 6 months old. In our previous visit, baby Ryan was only 1 month old. He's so cute and active... crawling everywhere! I had a great time playing with all his toys! Mummy had a good time catching up with Aunties Yen Choo & Chin Nie too. Too bad no picture.

Another great 'reunion' was with Uncle Khen and Aunty Wendee, my D&M old friends and housemates from university days. We ate at Mercer's at The Curve and had a good time altogether. Me, I was spoilt by the workers there, and given not 1, but 2 balloons! (though pictured here is only 1 of the 2 balloons)

That about wraps up our KL & Melaka trip this time. We have more to tell about Penang celebrations in another time. Til then, bye!
