4 Thursdays ago, I was in the hospital and Shanna was born. She is now 1 month old. More pictures of her later.
In some ways, time really flies. It seemed just a short while ago that I was awaiting Shanna's arrival and now it's already a month we've had her.
In other ways, this past month sort of crawled by. I was counting down the days of confinement hoping for some of the discomforts to end... Tim and I also can't really recall clearly how we spent our time before Shanna came. In that sense it seems like a long while.
Confinement highlight/lowlights:
- I had great appetite, after 9 months of not enjoying eating this was a relief. But.. sometimes I hardly had time to eat.
- I perspired A LOT. Never before in my life I've sweated this much. Must be the post pregnancy body conditions plus the heaty food to drive out wind.
- I found that I could operate on maximum 3 hours stretches of sleep.
- As I mentioned before, most stressful experience of confinement for me was learning/establishing breastfeeding. And yes, I was pretty stressed out alot of the time especially at the 1st couple of weeks.
- I was in some ways really confined during confinement period, did not go anywhere except to the hospital. This was not imposed by anyone but taking care of baby and myself took up all my time.
- After more than 10 years of eating outside food, Tim and I got to enjoy our moms' home cooking for the past month :)
