Our 2nd Babymoon...(long post!)

Our 1st babymoon was when I was 5 months pregnant with Shanna. This is our 2nd babymoon with me 5 months pregnant again, and with 2.5 yo Shanna joining us. In fact, this holiday was planned with the little girl in mind. She had been asking frequently to go on the aeroplane, so we decided to head down south to Singapore, since we have not been there for a holiday in a long time.

We stayed at the Swissotel at the Stamford, booked under Intel corporate rate, and it was expensive as like all hotels in Singapore, but very comfortable for the 3 of us. They were nice to provide a complimentary single bed when we checked in as a party of 3. The daily complimentary breakfast was excellent and we tapau noodles/rice/etc for Shanna's lunch as well, which came in handy when we had fast food for lunch.

Here's a condensed version of our trip: Day 1, we visited the Singapore Science Centre. While Tim and I found it interesting, Shanna did not appreciate it... she was scared of some of the displays (smoke machines, minature tornado, etc). For a few days afterwards (until now, in fact), she would say whenever she remembered about the trip... "You (means I) were not happy at the Science Center, because there got a lot of smoke. You (means I) said you want to go home, you want to go home!" However, she enjoyed the Waterworks exhibition a lot.

Excited to be going on the MRT

Handling the water spray at the Waterworks, so much fun for kids!

Day 2: We went to the Singapore Zoo with uncle Kai Cheong. The weather was perfect, windy and slightly overcast, but no rain. Here, Shanna saw a sea lion show, we witnessed a real life public marriage proposal at one of the animal shows, Shanna enjoyed the carousal & water park (again), and we did not have time or energy left to see all the animals.

The highlight of the day for Shanna

Second best ride at the zoo... first place still goes to the carousal. This little girl would steer her Daddy's head to the direction she wants to go, just like steering the wheel of a car.

Due to the park regulations, we got her a swim suit from the gift store. It was alright as the price was not more expensive than what we would have paid to buy Ogival in Malaysia. This is size 4 (for 4yo) but the top just fit!

Back at the hotel with her precious Mickey. Shanna wanted to look for Mickey at every shopping mall we went to.

Day 3 found us headed to Sentosa Island, main purpose was to visit the Underwater World with the pink dolphins. We took the monorail from Vivocity which cost only $6 for 2 persons' return ticket, inclusive of the entrance to Sentosa, quite a good price!
Unfortunately, the pink dolphins show was put on hold as these were new dolphins still undergoing training. Anyway, we saw the dolphins so we were not too disappointed.

After disembarking the monorail

Somehow this was one of the more memorable experiences for Shanna-putting her hands into the aquarium and saying "Fish fish, come", she can still tell us about it now. We also touched sting rays, slippery things!

In the evening, Uncle KC brought us to Marina Sands Bay to watch the Sound of the Seas show. Shanna and I ended up in the shopping mall. She was scared of the loud sounds, the smoke and the laser lights :S She was so relieved to 'escape' into the 'nice mall' (her words) where she could look at the water fountain instead.

We had a wonderful, but short trip at Singapore. How we wished we had more time to meet up with friends and do more shopping :P Maybe next time.

Shanna was reluctant to leave Singapore. After we got back, she had 'hangover' from the trip and went to bed early every night for a week :). She now keeps asking "Mummy, can we go to Singapore?"

Thrilled to be at the airport, looking out at planes.

Being Mickey's tour guide.

Audrey, Glad to know you enjoyed your 2nd babymoon. Did anyone mention you look elegant in long dresses? :) Btw, I like the picture of Shanna cuddling mickey in the hotel room. She looks so adorable.

Hey Karen! I wanted to meet you up in Singapore, but didn't have time :( There is a reason why I'm wearing all these maxi dresses - my legs are all irritated & scarred by eczema :( Thanks for the compliment though :)
