City of Romance

As promised, here are some photos from some highlights of my recent business trip. It was my first time to Paris. The weather was extremely hot when I was there (30+dC). But that did not diminish the beauty of this city.

Dinner on the sidewalk one evening in Paris. People often sit facing the road, admiring the views while having their food/drink. The funny looking pincer tools were used for the dish we ordered as below...

Escargots... a must-eat in Paris.

Macaroons are the other must-eat item. They don't come cheap! The few that I attempted to bring home ended up mostly crushed. But hubby & my girl enjoyed them.

I have never seen so many tempting pastries as I did in Paris. Too bad we didn't have much time to sample them.

Before seeing this structure, I thought the Eiffel tower might be overrated. But seeing it in person, I concur it deserves to be the landmark of Paris.

The most visited place in the Paris - The Lourve

The French really know how to do interior design.

The most famous painting in the world resides in it's own section in the Musee Lourve. To get this picture, I braved the crowds while keep a tight hold on my bag and watching out for pickpockets (the darker side of Paris).

By the way, it is true: the eyes of Mona Lisa follows you.

Paris is famous also as a shopping paradise. Outside each luxury store in Lafayette Gallery, there were people queuing up. It was quite an experience!

The rooms in the hotel we stayed were tiny - Hong Kong style. For breakfast each day, we had crossaints & crossaints.

Communication was a small problem at times. There were some miscommunications but we survived.

It was a good trip. I would love to go again (with hubby). And it is even better to be home :)

Hello, miss hearing from us? We have been missing in action in blog-land recently due to being away on business trips. First, it was Tim's trip to Japan for 10 days. A day after he got back, I went to Singapore for 1 day. A week later, I went on another business trip for 12 days, some highlights of the trip are shown in pictures below.

But wait, I have to tell you about our kids :) They are really growing up so fast! Case in point: when Tim was away, Ian learnt to crawl a few paces and his first tooth surfaced. Then when I was away, Ian learnt to crawl very far and fast, had his 3rd tooth out, learnt to pull himself up on his knees, and starting saying 'Da da di da'. Our baby is developing fast and the parents can hardly catch up.

Shanna is quite a talker, at home at least. She can write quite a number of alphabets and also read up to Peter & Jane 1B. Tomorrow we will start on 2A :) She drinks milk from the cup once a day, her preference still being her bottle. Her interests now are on body functions (sweat glands, skin pores, scars, etc), PlayDoh, pattern/shape toys & for some reason, nursery rhymes! Despite our efforts, she does not like to sit still for writing/coloring/activity books. She will work on it for 5-10 minutes then move on to other toys (so unlike her Mummy who used to love to write & color...).

I changed my mind, I will post pictures of the kids instead and save trip pictures for the next post hehe :P I'm sure you don't mind :)

Again, with 2 small kids + stoller + bags, it's not easy to squeeze through crowds to take pictures with the bridal couple. So, we took pictures of ourselves.
